Have to love the balls to release a Black Metal album on December 25th. This is actually the second album Order of Nosferat released in 2024, and I like it a whole lot better than I liked The Absence of Grace. I just think the compositions here have more shape to them, and the riffs and melodies are better and sharper than they were before. The band seems to have firmed up what they are trying to do, working their second-wave Black Metal in the tradition of Nehemah, Evilfeast, or Crimson Moon, with sprawling arrangements and a much more epic feel. They were trying for epic before, but this time I think they actually got what they wanted. I felt like previous works by these guys lacked identity, but this one grabs me, and I keep listening to it. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
