Steel Inferno have been slugging away for years now, and this is their fourth full-length album since I reviewed their demo ten years ago. This is not a polished-sounding band and never has been, but they have learned to harness their chaotic, flailing style into something that's a lot of fun. Very much about the classic '80s metal sound, they remind me of stuff like Helstar or early Metal Church, even some of that first Stormwitch album. Steel Inferno also pull in some Thrash influence on songs like "Power Games" or "The Blitz" that recall the raw sound of early-80s Thrash. All around this is a massively entertaining album that blazes and rips through songs that are more like grabbing a live power line than anything else. If you love '80s metal, then this is an album you want. A rush of power indeed. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
