Pure Swedish death metal is the name of the game here, with The Rottening (gotta love that name) delivering some fast, buzzsaw death metal like the old days, while not sounding dated. The music is raw but the modern production ensures everything is clear, the vocals are gnarly and aggressive, and the music packs some melody and I found it quite catchy and it's just a headbanging fest from beginning to end. I like how the melodies blend so well with the aggressive music, toning things down a bit before getting back to the aural onslaught. It's just 21 minutes and will make you beg for more, so hopefully The Rottening have more of this in the oven. |
