Hollow, bellowing Death Metal with a blackened feel and edge. This is the debut full-length for this US band, and it leaves a mark. I hear some similarities to other chaotic bands like Akhlys or maybe even a bit of Deathspell Omega. This is deeply unfriendly music with churning, atonal riffs and roars of unholy pain echoing through what sounds like the caverns of the underworld. I like this best when it is pummeling, and the band does have a tendency to slow down too much and kind of plod. These songs are long, and they didn't need to be as long as they are, and so some of the compositions come across as baggy. A highly promising band who will bear watching.
