Fourth album by this Swedish band who started out as a solo act by Andreas Westholm, but have since morphed into a full lineup act. I said Swedish and I meant it, as you will not mistake this for Black Metal from anywhere else. Marduk, Naglfar, Lord Belial—you will hear bits of all the classics in here. The compositions do include quite a lot of atmospheric elements, and are more ambitious than their influences would suggest, but when Seid get down to business, they hit hard with a biting guitar sound, some killer riffage, and aggressive vocals. There's nothing here you have not already heard from a ton of Viking-tinged Black Metal bands, but I have to say this band does it well enough that I don't really care much about their lack of originality.
