The band name, album name and artwork do not lie: This is old-school speed/thrash metal. The band didn't go full old school on the production and this has a more modern feel to it as a result, but this is musically old school to the core, with a subtle punky vibe that gives it a bit of an addictive crazy overall vibe. The vocals are harsh and gruffy, but the lyrics are easy to understand. There's more of a party thrash kind of style going on here than anything more sinister, so, in other words, the music rocks. The solos have some traditional heavy metal leanings to them, albeit on the heavier, darker end of the spectrum when it comes to that genre. No flowery ballads here, this is fast and furious, heavy and overall pretty catchy, and all that is a good recipe to drag the listener back for another aural beating. |
