This is a long-gestating follow-up, as this band put out their debut in 2000 and were then broken up for a while. I caught this on YouTube and was glad to be able to just buy the digital album for a measly 5 Euros, as it is a surprisingly good album that kind of comes out of nowhere. This is epic, pounding metal in the tradition of Cirith Ungol or Heavy Load, with chugging riffs and somewhat warbly vocals that remind me alternately of Slough Feg's Mike Scalzi or of Mark Shelton himself. I am also reminded a good bit of Dark Quarterer, or even Thunder Rider—if anyone else remembers that band. Songs like "Doomed" and "Lanhkmar" are just first-rate stuff. If you are into modern bands like Wrathblade or Gatekeeper, then Ordalia should go on your list too.
