Strange name for a black metal band, but it's just a name. One might have expected some DSBM based on that, but Sad are largely about a mix of first- and second-wave black metal. They're big on melody and that makes a few songs kind of catchy, though I personally like the rawer, more barebones and no-frills material that's found in good quantity throughout the album. They sometimes steer toward the melancholic, which I found to be a bit of a distraction (even though it's a good fit for the band's name). Black Metal Craft really shines when the band just "rocks" (for lack of a better word) with the rawer and faster songs; it's nothing that anyone who listens to a lot of black metal hasn't heard before, but it's well executed.
