Vorga are working out for Transcending Obscurity Records, as while their debut was merely solid, this follow-up is genuinely good, and speaks well of the band's songwriting growth. Of a similar vein of bands like Imperialist or maybe Sacramentum, Vorga play highly melodic Blackened Death Metal with dark Sci-Fi lyrics and a pinch of technicality in the mix. The production is spot-on, with a big guitar sound and a lot of space to the recording, giving this a lot of presence and depth. Rather than the more frenetic attack of the debut, this works a slower, more inimical groove for a lot of the running time, building some real mood. I like where this band is going.
