First full-length album for Troll since 2010's Neo-Satanic Supremacy. Right off the bat, I don't dislike the album, but I can't say it gets me excited either. The band is still doing its non-sucky symphonic black metal, though here I found the keyboards are often distracting from the more interesting guitar work that's trying to come front and centre, and at times they're just a bit too melodic and clash with the overall dark music on offer. Your mileage may vary on that one. I really like the croaky vocals that add another level or aggression to the already aggressive and punishing black metal that can be found throughout (when it's not too overshadowed by the occasionally overeager keyboards). There isn't much left to remember once the album is over, but it's mostly a good listen while it's on. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 13 years for the next album.
