Okrütnik (apparently something like "cruel man" in Polish) are a four-piece black/thrash act that's been around spreading their pestilence to the masses since 2018, one that I missed out on until their latest album, Krwawy Pontyfikat (translating that is your homework, I don't get paid enough to keep doing it for you). I should probably fix that if older works are anything like this, which is to say malicious, uncompromising assault of evil and aggression akin to the likes of Desaster and Nifelheim. The songs blast by as fiercely and effortlessly as a hot knife through your mother as the Martin van Drunen-esque vocals of Marcin Kulik trade off with Eryk Kula's high-pitched screams over vile songs about Satan and evil (probably, I don't speak Polish so that's a guess). I won't name individual standouts because this isn't really that kind of album, so go polish your pentagrams, turn your crosses upside down, and light the blackened candles as you spend your dark evenings praising all that is evil and fun with Okrütnik from start to finish.
