This is really primitive for what it is, but I kind of like it anyway. When I say "primitive," I don't mean that in the raw, crude sense, as this is going for a much more symphonic approach and obviously doing it on a budget. The sound is thin, without much reverb or depth, and the playing is hyperkinetic but sounds small and far away. The keys layered over the top provide mood and some really cool melodies, and yet the whole still sounds kind of like Evilfeast played at 78 RPM. That said, I still find myself liking this a lot. In this day when one-man projects are sounding more and more like full orchestras, it's actually cool to hear something that sounds crappy as an aesthetic decision.
