This is a one-man Ukrainian band, so you can imagine the kinds of stress he is under right now. Bergrizen has been putting out albums since 2008, refining a Black Metal style that sits somewhere between Drudkh and Lunar Aurora, with some very long songs made up of intricate melodic riffs with a lot of shaded tremolo picking. This flirts with a more folkish sound in some of the acoustic interludes and the inclusion of some violin sounds and other bits of nontraditional instrumentation. What this band has that others don't always is a degree of emotional intensity that really punches things up a notch. At no point on this album does this guy sound like he is bored or just going through the motions—not even a little. An impressive work from an underground band.
