I keep wanting to like albums by this band better than I do. This is the 8th album of Funeral Doom from this one-depressed-man band from San Antonio, and it is remarkable in how it sounds almost exactly like all the previous albums under this name. Funeral Doom is slow, and this is that, but I also like when it has oceanic heaviness, and this does not really do that. This is much more mellow when I want it to be wrenching, and sad rather than apocalyptic or tragic. I can't fairly fault an album for not being what I would like it to be, but I just wish this stuff had more presence and more going on than just mood. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
