One of over a dozen bands listed at Metal Archives under the name Vengeance, this one hails from Poland and Sewer Surge is their debut album. An album title like that sure makes you think some kind of thrash is coming, and that's definitely part of Vengeance's mix, which is kind of a NWOBHM/Punk/thrash combination. Venom is a clear influence, especially on the wild and chaotic songs like "Brain Damage" but there is a fair amount of Motörhead's ear for catchy melodies, notably on "Disappointing Parking Lot Sex." There's even a Tom Araya, balls-in-a-vice scream on "Vengeance..." This kind of squealing guitars, screaming vocals, ear-abusing metal has been done a thousand times, but it is what Vengeance was aiming for and the band is right around the bull's-eye. You've heard it before, but if you laid down your soul for the gods Rock and Roll, Sewer Surge should work just fine.
