I have never really followed Goatwhore, only hearing a song here and there to confirm that they are pretty much the middle of the road when it comes to Death/Black Metal. This album came out last year, so I am not sure why I have it now, but here we are. This pretty much sounds like Belphegor or Behemoth, but blander, without any kind of excess or real excitement in the songwriting. The production is pro and slick, with great sound on the lower end, but the guitar tone is smooth and uninteresting, and the vocals are overproduced to the point where they could be anybody. This is not bad, it's just overproduced, underwritten, and pretty faceless. |
