Some insane blackened death out of Poland, Whirlwinds of Fathomless Chaos is certainly aptly named. It's sort of all over the place, going from a very bestial, war-ish black metal to a much slower, crushingly heavy black/death that's just too evil to be simply called "doomish"; the one constant throughout the album is how demonic and cavernous the songs sound, with very deep, screechy growls that sometimes morph into agonizing screams. The listener doesn't get much of a break, this thing is wall-to-wall insane metal that plows through everything in its path. Variations of this have been done before, but it's the execution and attitude that count the most, and Temple Desecration have nailed it with this album. |
