A short but sweet (so to speak) EP from Malaysia's Tomb (now that's an original name...) These guys play their blackened death raw and minimalistic, yet surprisingly there's a bit of melody popping up here and there as well. But, for the most part, this is just savage, chaotic, cavernous-sounding metal that's not without reminding me of western Canadian "war metal." Forget about understanding the lyrics; they're barked growls and insane screams that barely sound human. Not for the faint of heart, but if you're hankering for an aural chaos, The Dark Subconscious will give you 15 minutes that'll slam you against the wall and pin you to the ground. |
