Armagh are a Polish band with a definite retro sound, with classic metal riffing and melodic, echoey vocals that really evoke that '80s style of vocal production. The themes and lyrics are quite a bit darker and more Satanic than you usually get from bands like this, but the sound of the songwriting does not have the same evil vibe. The production is weaker than I would like, as while there are really good riffs on this, they don't have the best delivery, and the drums and bass are just hard to hear at all. This really sounds like old '80s US-Metal like Liege Lord, Jag Panzer, or even Omen, and there is a lot of good stuff here all but buried under the somewhat weak recording. A really good album that could sound a lot better. |
