Been a decade since I heard this band's Proud to Die EP, and I am glad they still exist and also glad they are still kicking this much ass. I would have expected them to soften up a little over time, but this is still the same furious, all-crushing Death Metal they used to play. Dead Soul Alliance definitely have a Euro-influenced sound, with a guitar tone straight from the old days of Dismember or Carnage, but their songwriting is actually pretty advanced, with twisting, hooky riffs that snag you through the wall of blistering heaviness they lay down as a base. Ruthlessly aggressive, punishingly heavy, inventive and with a dash of complexity on top. Undoubtedly one of the best Death Metal releases this year. |
