One of many bands named Disinter, these Peruvians have been at it for some 30 years, and it certainly sounds like they've stuck to their guns all those years. This is some pretty tasty old-school death metal with a bit of a muddy sound and somewhat decipherable growls that have a bit of a screechy edge to them, and the style really fits well with the music on offer. It's pretty heavy overall and there's that deep cavernous vibe that gives it a very dark sound. I've enjoyed this album quite a bit except for the second intro ("Intro: Tormento y lujuria") which is one of those weird tracks where "something is happening" and for the most part is a woman definitely not having a good time. Never been a fan of this kind of stuff, and I find it really breaks the mood of the album. I never understood why bands do this kind of stuff. So. Fucking. Annoying. Anyway, other than that, this is some really enjoyable death metal, nothing flashy, nothing you haven't heard before (at this point I think we can say that of most albums being released these days), just straightforward stuff, varied enough so as to not get boring, no shortage of headbangable moments, and I did have to break out the air guitar a few times. If not for that stupid second intro, I'd have rated this higher. |
