This is the debut from a band out of Indianapolis, of all places. Blasted Heath play seriously subterranean-sounding Black/Thrash, with a sawing guitar sound and vocals that sound like they were recorded at the bottom of a well. This reminds me of messy, thrashing stuff like Aura Noir or Nifelheim, though this is not as focused on speed, and is much more about the riff. The songwriting meanders a bit, and the band uses some more clean-sounding vocals that aren't great, but when they are flailing along, they sound pretty good. |
