Sartori is an international band that plays music which reminds me of the early days of metal when a lot of bands were trying to strike a balance between all-out heaviness and some measure of melodic accessibility. Their album Dragon’s Fire is characterized by some good neoclassical guitar work and vocals that need a bit echo to tame them, the singer possessing energy that outstrips his ability on occasion. It is a solid traditional heavy metal effort that reminds me of bands like Keel and Kick Axe, nothing amazing but nothing I wanted to turn off. If you are looking for something straightforward and unpretentious, give Dragon’s Fire a listen.
