Much has been said about these long-running Polish death metallers, so I won't go into much detail as Tibi et Igni is very much in line with what they've been doing for a long time. No surprise here: The songs are instantly recognizable as Vader, especially when Peter's vocals kick in. Despite the band playing it relatively safe and mostly sticking to a proven formula on all their albums, this is one of my favourite death metal bands—always solid death metal. Their death metal is heavy, dark, often quite melodic, and so much of the guitar work is reminiscent of old-school heavy and thrash metal that taking out the air guitar is just mandatory. No real surprise here other than a few more cleanish vocals than usual (cleanish, but dark and gloomy) and even some female vocals courtesy of Marta Gabriel on the alternate version of "Przekl?ty na Wieki (Cursed Eternally)" (one of three bonus tracks on this edition). Pretty much a must-have like just about everything in the band's discography.
