Orgasmic Glory is the second album from Canada's Aphrodite, a band made up of Ice War's Jo Steel (or Jo Capitalicide, your choice, he seems to answer to both) and Demona/Outline's Tanza Speed along with lead guitarist Yan Turbo. I'm not a huge fan of Ice War and I found the Aphrodite's debut, Lust and War, rough around the edges and forgettable, but Orgasmic Glory shows some improvement. They continue to play punk-fueled, NWOBHM-style metal that might fit your definition of speed metal (I like a little more thrash in mine, thanks). Tanza's vocals still remind me of Girlschool, maybe with Venom backing them up, but the songwriting is a little tighter and songs like "Troy is Burning," "Europa" and "Children of Night" stick around after the album is done, something that was missing from Lust and War. Aphrodite play fast, dirty metal by design and it isn't supposed to be pretty, it's supposed to make you throw a fist in the air and with Orgasmic Glory, they inch closer to that goal.
