Lots of good death metal albums landing on my lap lately, and Endseeker's Mount Carcass is one of them. These guys play it heavy enough, but the main attraction here is how catchy this stuff is, which is definitely not a given when it comes to death metal. You're pretty much guaranteed to remember at least some bits and pieces after just one listen. Mount Carcass is kind of "light" as far as death metal go, reminding me of some melodic death metal at the more brutal end of the spectrum but also some melodic black metal when it comes to the actual melodies. There's some flirtation with thrash as well and I even found myself thinking of Witchery once or twice while listening to this. A lot of the more melodic stuff here takes me way back some 20 years, think God Dethroned around that time. Lots of variety here, nothing you haven't heard here and there, but Endseeker put that all together in one enjoyable package.
