I don't know why it took me so long to give Wizard a proper listen, if only for the number of albums that have been reviewed here. "Manowar" is probably the first thing that came to mind when I listened to this, then "Majesty" and "power metal". They have that pompous Manowar style with lyrics in the same vein, but also the more melodic style with slightly gruffier and not-so-perfect vocals of Majesty, which I often refer to as the "German Manowar". Put these two in a blender and throw in a bit of positive-sounding European power metal and you get something like Metal in my Head. It's a lot of stuff about metal, brotherhood, swords and other weapons—you know, that cheesy stuff that's always carried to our ears by catchy heavy metal, and that's what Wizard did here and passed with flying colours.
