Germany has had a penchant for Thrash since the '80s, and even today it still produces some quality bands in the style. Suicide of Society are yet another one of these bands, and their debut, War Investment, is a slab of violent, well-played Thrash that unsurprisingly has that German sound all over it, but also takes influence form American acts like Exodus and Municipal Waste and even a bit of Iron Maiden in the lead work. The music has a sharp degree of melody to it, but that doesn't stop it from ripping your face off with good ol' fashioned Thrash. Vocalist Simon Müller also serves as a noteworthy part of the band, not because he's particularly great, but because his filthy, neanderthalic delivery fits the music to a vile tee. Tracks like "Dream of the Plague", "Mass of Violence", and the title track are all ripping examples of punishing Thrash Metal, and if you just can't get enough of the stuff, this is worth listening to. |
