Unleash the Storm is an EP from Desolate Realm, a band that hails from Finland. It has a doomy vibe though I wouldn't go as far as to call it true doom; it isn't all that slow, but the riffs do have that low rumble that makes shit vibrate across the table when the volume is cranked. The singer has a deep bellow but can also hit the high notes when called upon. I can't pick one song over another, the songwriting isn't that striking, but neither did I dislike any of them. Unleash the Storm's slow, thunderous riffs and strong vocals remind me of Armored Saint, so if their early stuff does it for you, Desolate Realm is a band to watch. |
