Review

On their debut EP, Lost from the Start, Galaxy is a band shooting for an '80s sound and landing in the vicinity of Riot's Thundersteel. Big, melodic riffing and pounding double-kick drums set the tone and get your head banging. The vocalist isn't the best singer but when it is time to ratchet it up into the higher register, he's got the pipes to break glass. The four songs (plus intro) are solid and consistent but Galaxy haven't produced a standout yet. This is a band to watch closely for fans of '80s metal with a U.S. vibe.
