Sometimes, it's easy to forget just how productive the Swedish Metal scene really is, and this debut from Three Dead Fingers shows that it does so with quality Thrash as well. Breed of the Devil is an interesting mix of Thrash, Traditional, Power, and Death with a heavy modern sheen over it. The musicianship is tight and precise (which is doubly impressive if the claim of all the members being between 13-15 when this was released is true), the vocals that range from melodic clean singing to gang shouts to growls, and overall this band just experiments with their influences more than you see Thrash usually bother with. This won't be for everyone, and I can't say that it's really first-rate material, but it's a promising debut, nonetheless. |
