Despite having a Hardcore sounding name, Survivors Zero are a Death Metal band thankfully without a trace of core in their sound. This was the single released before their full-length debut CMXCIX, and it's done a good job of convincing me to check it out. The two songs on here are the title track and a cover of Kreator's "People of the Lie", and while the cover is serviceable, the original song on here is filled with crushing riffs, venomous vocals, and some stellar melodic work that's oozing with that Finnish flavor that you can't find anywhere else. Since the full-length has been out about as long as this single, I can't really recommend it all that highly, but I will say it served its purpose of making me want to find more from this band.
