Hailing from Oulu, Finland, Spell of Torment have been making a name for themselves in the Finnish underground with their Dissection-esque Blackened Death Metal for the past few years, and it all started with this single. With both the title track and "Pazuzu", drummer Tommi Tukala and vocalist/guitarist Juho Koski do a good job emulating '90s Swedish Black/Death Metal with ferocity and mesmerizing melodic sensibility to spare. It makes me want more, and that's about as high a praise I can give to a single. |
