Ond Spiritism was Armagedda last full-length album back in 2004 and is the latest of their releases to be reissued. While The Final War Approaching was a massive fest of raw black metal, Ond Spiritism sees the band changing directions with a slower, doomier and atmospheric sound, all while retaining a healthy dose of raw guitars and dark, raspy vocals. The music is more approachable, even kind of catchy, borrowing the approach of old-school Swedish melodic black metal from the second part of the '90s. While I prefer the previous album, Ond Spiritism is a good example of a band trying something different without sounding like they had to compromise. Good stuff.
