Stonecast play a pretty cool mix of heavy and power metal with a modern vibe instead of the retro style offered by a lot of similar bands in recent years. Their music is quite melodic and is really not the heaviest nor crunchiest thing you'll ever hear. It's pretty accessible stuff that is bound to please metalheads in search of something light and maybe even grab a few rock and hard rock fans along the way. I guess I could call it "inoffensive", but in a good way. The vocals are front and centre, with the vocalist delivering the vocal melodies in a mix of rocking, soothing and catchy way. While I'm a sucker for the retro, '80-style sound, from time to time it's nice to hear something different, and while Stonecast don't really invent anything, they did a good job mixing things up a little in the shape of something fresh. |
