Somewhat gutsy band name considering everyone is offended by everything and looking for a safe place these days. Totalitarian play some pretty badass war-themed blackened death metal, and that's what it sounds like: war. The backbone is fast and brutal 90s Scandinavian black metal, so that's a good start. Throw in some really harsh, enraged vocals—great work by the vocalist—and a few war-ish spoken passages (some in German, another thing that will get the professionally offended more offended for nothing). The end result is like being overrun by a bunch of tanks going at 100 kph and then having what's left bombed into dust. Love this stuff. If you're into the usual suspects such as Marduk, then this is definitely something you'll want to check out. |
