Louisiana's Kavyk play a rather uneventful brand of black metal. It's basically a wall of sound with a melancholic vibe and the occasional melody and slower passages creeping in from time to time, complemented by low, harsh growls that really fit in with the monotonic approach the band have chosen for their songs. It's good, but there isn't anything here that hasn't been done many times before.
