Well, reach for this if you are just wanting some DEATH METAL and nothing else. Skeletal Remains are a California band who do it up like it was still the '80s. Chunky, crunchy riffs, bellowing vocals, horror-filled lyrics, and even a Dan Seagrave cover. I mean, look at that title—you would swear that was from an album put out on RoadRacer back in the summer of ?89 or some shit like that. There is nothing here you have not heard a billion times, but I don't care when it is done with this much flair and conviction. Intentionally retro and yet still somehow straight-up and honest. If you like classic US Death Metal then this is a no-brainer. |
