This was a pretty cool blind purchase at a local record store last summer. Asomvel play heavy metal very much in the vein of Motörhead but with more emphasis on early-80s "down 'n' dirty" metal rather than punk. This is about as old school as it gets. Straightforward, basic, fun, catchy and just rocking from beginning to end. The vocalist is a good blend of classic rock/hard rock and classic metal in terms of style and his style is an excellent fit for the music. Nothing groundbreaking here, just good fun. Recommended if you can't get enough of "good-times" early 80s heavy metal. |
