Well, damn. I listened to this several times before reading the press release and it's a good thing I did. I honestly thought this was a reissue of, maybe, Holocausto's first demo or something close to that. But no, this is actually a new demo recorded live with an open-air mic. It sure as hell sounds like it could have been recorded in the early to mid-80s on a home tape player or something not much better. Guerra Total is about as raw and muddy as it gets and, quality-wise, it sure deserves to be categorized as a demo. Nuclear War Now! are fittingly releasing this on cassette. If this was an attempt to make us travel back in time, aurally and medium-wise, then "missing accomplished" alright, but I wonder if this really is a necessary release. Ultimately it's a little weird to go back to that sound and only those into very raw, messy, chaotic recordings and music will want to get this. Well, Holocausto were never about pretty, so the tradition continues. Embrace the filth!
