La Caverna Records have decided to reissue on CD this tape, which was released in 1993 in a very limited run of 100. Needless to say, the original is hard to find nowadays. Surprisingly, the 23+ minutes are packed with rather diverse songs, making for an entertaining and interesting listen. Some bands can’t even pull this off in an album twice as long. Thrombus’ brand of death metal is predominantly fast, heavy and brutal (for the time period anyway) with a few slower, not-quite-atmospheric but dark parts that carry an evil-sounding vibe that fits perfectly with the violent onslaught of the faster parts. The vocalist does a great job of making the ensemble more hateful and evil with some top-notch growling straight from the depths of hell. Good stuff. This one is limited to 400 copies, so get it while it’s hot. |
