Finland’s Thaurorod were set to release their third album earlier this year and I was thinking, "OK, I’ll give it a spin or two and move on. They’re cool, but nothing stellar", and so there I was, setting sail with zero expectations, only to be fucking swept away by a massive wave of delicious riffs, ridiculously fast instrumental, marvelous and catchy songwriting and a million tons of sugary Power Metal mastery. HOLY SHIT.

Songs like the really good opener "Power", the amazing title track and the high-tempo attack "Feed the Flame" are set to give us Euro Power fans multiple orgasms with well-timed screams and highly proficient vocals provided by Andi Kravlja?a (former Silent Call and Seventh Wonder), killer twin guitar-work and happy keyboard lines, while the diabetics can settle for the also killer "Cannibal Island" or the opus "Illuminati." Making great albums of this particular niche is becoming rarer by the day, so it’s always nice to see something like this slipping through the cracks; this will make you revisit the late ‘90s/early 2000s when Melodic Power Metal took the world by storm.
