Twilight Hammer is a Canadian act working in the current black/thrash movement. They put out an album, Orcish Steel, back in 2007 (according to Metal Archives) that I haven't heard but what I do have is their 2014 Wrathfire demo. Three originals and a live cover of Deströyer 666's "Satanic Speed Metal" go by in a 20-minute blur of noisy speed. Once in a while you can catch a croaked word amidst the mashed together guitars and drums but this is really just a slightly better played Hellhammer clone. And with the glut of black/thrash bands crowding the field today there's nothing on Wrathfire that you haven't heard before. |
