Blitzkrieg may be one of the most iconic and badass bands of the NWOBHM, and Brian Ross is perceived as a genius by the Heavy Metal community, so to see the Brits releasing new material after five years naturally set fire to my pants. However, what we have here on Judge Not! is a combination of a seemingly tired Ross, an under-produced album and surprisingly childish lyrics with energetic instrumental and a lot of catchy bits. But I shit you not: English is not my native language, I don't have over 30 years of experience writing music and even I could have written deeper, more complex lyrics than these guys did; it's preposterous how they're bad.
At the end of the day, though, this IS a genuine Blitzkrieg album, so there's plenty of riffs to go around as well as some inspired tracks, such as "All Hell Is Breaking Loose". Longtime followers and those who don't get butthurt about awful lyrics and semi-shitty production (like I do, because I need to as a reviewer) will rejoice once again with Ross and crew's rendition of Heavy Metal, while those who handpick their music will find that 3 out of 5 is actually a pretty generous rating for the album.
