This is some no-nonsense, aggressive and crunchy thrash out of Texas. They remind me a little bit of The Crown circa The Deathrace King at times, the vocals especially, though Anialator are way more on the thrash side of things. There's a hint of old school 80s thrash in here, but overall the band's sound is that of modern thrash, with that edge toward death metal that pops in more often than not. It's a bit "safe" and could certainly use more cool solos such as on "Rise Again", but you have to give them props for going against the grain and going for newish thrash instead of so-called retro thrash. It's over quickly at just over 19 minutes, but it's entertaining enough and hopefully a sign of good things to come from Anialator. |
