I usually don't review singles, but these guys are local and the song kicks ass, so here we are. This is a taster release ahead of their upcoming full-length album, The Virulent Host, which is slated for release in 2019. So, lots of time to wait still... "Bhopal '84" (Google it if you don't know what this refers to) is a fast, visceral and razor-sharp little piece of technical death metal. Compared to the material on their Putrid EP, this shows a band a that hasn't been resting on its laurels and has kept upping their game. The vocals are better "defined", slightly less guttural, which is a plus. Four minutes of technical brutality, quite apt for the song's subject matter. That album is so far away, this is almost cruel. |
