Velociter, a young five-piece Thrash Metal band from Denmark fronted by female shouter Marika Hyldmar, is full of enthusiasm to deliver their goods in the name of Thrash Metal. The band obviously knows the basics of how to Thrash and all that, but unfortunately they also sound a bit amateurish here and there when it comes to song arrangements. Slayer was surely one of their main influences (as can clearly be heard on "Heir of Solitude"). Plus, who wouldn't like to make a cover version out of some Mercyful Fate song? Velociter's version of "Come to the Sabbath" sounds actually pretty decent, giving their uncompromising Thrash treatment to that classic track. Artillery and Invocator are still safe, but, on the other hand, Velociter still have lots of time on their side to kick both bands down from their Danish Thrash Metal thrones. |
