I just reviewed Victorius' Heart of the Phoenix album in early 2017 and already they are back with a new EP, Dinosaur Warfare – Legend of the Power Saurus. If the title wasn't enough of a clue, Victorius have really upped the cheesy power metal lyrics with songs about dinosaurs and space aliens. I've heard bands combine disparate topics before, but this is taking it to a new level. Clearly you have to go into this with a wink and a grin. Like the prior album, Serenity-styled vocal lines over incessant double-kick drums are what you get so if you like those things (and I certainly do), Dinosaur Warfare is definitely worth picking up. Where else are you going to get a song about a flying, cybernetic saber-toothed tiger that can shoot lasers from his eyes?
