Temple of Evil was a good choice of a name for this Cyprus band since that's very much how their black metal sounds. The introduction kicks in with an eerie atmosphere and then you are thrown into more than 40 minutes of varied black metal. You name it: pedal-to-the-metal, doomy slow and atmospheric, and, of course, they had to do things mid-paced here and there as well. Tortured vocals, guitars that go anywhere from raw and razor sharp to beautifully melodic and pounding drums to glue it all together. A very strong debut that just begs to be played on repeat. |
