And......?

Eh.... Bit of a let down at first spin.  Softer, more moody, and the vocals are kind of this melodic groan I don't care for.  Maybe it will grow on me.

That?s too bad. And I hear you on Battle Raider. First time thru I didn?t realize how quickly it tails off. I still kinda like it but not as much as I did first time thru.

Haemophagus- Stream of Shadows
Cannibal Corpse- Red Before Black
Exhumed- Death Revenge
Resurgency- No Worlds... Nor Gods Beyond

For me, all of these records were heavy hitters that I just plan to revisit before hearing more new albums.

The new Cannibal Corpse was quite a bit better than I expected. I found "Code of the Slashers" to be a bit boring for them, so I wasn't expecting the album to really grab me. However, I think they did enough variation and high speed sections combined with familiar and fun slower grooves to keep it interesting. To be honest, the only thing I don't like so well at this point is Corpsegrinder's vocals. They're a bit monotonous this time around, and I don't love his tone as much as I used to. But honestly, I think it's an awesome record, better than Skeletal Domain for me.

I'm also enjoying the new Cannibal. Just a ridiculously consistent and solid band. But yeah Corpsegrinder doesn't do a single scream on this album, which is a bit strange. Still really like it, though.

Cannibal Corpse - Red Before Black
Iced Earth - Incorruptible
Hallatar - No Stars Upon the Bridge
Unleash the Archers - Apex
Necrytis - Countersighns

Morbid Angel - Kingdoms Disdained
Almanac - Kingslayer

Both really good, the MA isnt their best but its a step back in the right direction.  The Almanac is a hell of a surprise, their last was good all be it derivative, and while this is more of the same its alot more varied and fun!

Sweet Jesus, this does sound just like modern day Accept. Absolutely loving it.
